Overcoming Low Self Esteem - Optimistic Journey

Posted on December 4 2012

Do you often look at other people and compare yourself to them? We all are guilty of doing this.
Embrace who you are. God created all of us different. Genesis 1:27 says that "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."
Although He created us in His image, He intended for us all to be different; man, woman, boy, girl, black, white, old, young, we are all different but equal. It wasn't His intent that we walk with our head down with low self-esteem.
God wants us to love ourselves as we are. Too often we think, "I'm too big, I'm too little" or "I don't have what they have, I must not be favored like they are."
If these sound familiar to you, then I encourage you to change your mind-set. Change your way of thinking and develop your self-esteem in yourself and your faith in Christ.
It's thoughts like these that cause us to loose our self-confidence, and faith in God. There are many scriptures throughout the bible that remind us that we have Asset Manager 5.2 Software HP0-M96 Exam Questions the favor of God. By studying the word, you'll find that many times, despite the wrath of God, He has granted His un-merited favor. His grace and mercy alone shows us favor.
* Isaiah 60:10 tells us, "And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee."
* Proverbs 8:35 "For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD."
I had to constantly remind myself that I do have the favor of God. I used to be the world's worst when it comes to comparing myself to others, and looking down on myself. I always questioned myself. My self-esteem just wasn't that great. It wasn't until one day, that I realized that the only validation I need is the validation of the Lord.
Don't stress over what men say. God loves you inspite of your faults, inspite of your short comings, inspite of your so called "lack of success," and that's all that matters.
You shouldn't judge who you are based Implementing HP Cloud System Matrix Solutions HP0-D16 Exam Questions on what the world thinks you should be, because the world didn't give you this life and the world can't take it away.
I'll never forget when I was a child, my parents would constantly encourage and tell me that I can be anything I want to be. They would constantly remind me to never let anyone tell me who or what I can't be. Over a period of time that became one of my core beliefs because of the many times they drilled that into my mind.
Jesus validates us in the same way through the Word of God and through His actions. Jesus showed the ultimate validation for us when He died on the cross for our sins. That should communicate to you that you are important. Just to know that our Heavenly Father gave His life for our sins is more than enough validation.
As we get older and on our own, it's up to us to know who we are and be confident in ourselves. Our parents are not going to be around us reminding us of who we are and who we can be. We have to know that the favor of God is upon us.
The world is full of propaganda that gives us low self-esteem. There are so many sources such as, the media and magazines, that get into our heads and feed bad images and ideas on who we should be.
Don't let the world get into your head and convince you that you're not good enough. Hold your head up, put those shoulders back, stand tall, walk with confidence and show the world that you are somebody. Keep your confidence high and know that you do have the favor of the Lord, as you go through your life journey.
